Scotland is a melting pot of data innovation and there is no better way to showcase what Scotland has to offer and its leading role, than with DataFest 2017. We are delighted to be involved in this data festival which takes place this week at various venues throughout Edinburgh.
As recruitment specialists within the IT, digital and business change sectors the world of Data is extremely important to us. By being a part of this event not only allows us to learn from renowned international speakers and real case studies but we have the invaluable opportunity to network with local and international talent, academia and data enthusiasts. Data changes everything and by having an understanding of the key trends, developments, visions etc. we are able to discuss and showcase our knowledge within our network.
As part of DataFest we hosted a Fringe Event in conjunction with Craig Paterson from The Data Lab. The topic was “Data – Finding the Business Value”. Big Data, Small Data, Open Data, Smart Data, Data Lakes, Data Visualisation…the list of data terms goes on and on. But what does it all mean for your business and your customers? Data is an essential business input, data is critical to being competitive in the industry. There is real excitement about what data can offer a business.
By being part of this event we are able to learn so much and take away ideas which will help us drive our own data journey such as managing the implications of GDPR. There is a huge appetite for data in Scotland and all these events combined will help to highlight this and drive it forward. The world of data is changing so fast and the skills required are crucial to its development and the continual growth across Scotland.
We are exhibiting at Data Summit in the Assembly Rooms today and tomorrow, please come and visit us. We look forward to seeing you there.
